Guest Lecture on Holo Lens

  • 16-08-2018

The speaker, Mr. Rene Schulte, who is Innovation Director MVP Microsoft, Dresden Germany spoke about their new innovation Holo Lens. He said, recent developments in Artificial Intelligence gave developers an opportunity to teach a computer to perform complicated tasks by their own and Machine Learning is a subdivision of Artificial Intelligence development that uses data analysis algorithm, gets conclusions and makes decisions or predictions. Microsoft Holo Lens is the first self-contained, holographic computer, enabling you to engage with your digital content and interact with holograms in the world around you. It uses  some specialized components like multiple sensors, advanced optics, and a custom holographic processing unit enable us to go beyond the screen.

Holo Lens contains advanced sensors to capture information about what you are doing and the environment you are in.The built in cameras also enable you to record, something we call mixed reality capture (MRC), HD pictures and video of the holograms in the world around you to share with others. With Holo Lens you can create and shape holograms with gestures, communicate with apps using your voice and navigate with a glance. Microsoft Holo Lens is the first fully untethered holographic computer running Windows 10. It is completely self-contained, with no wires, phones, or connection to a PC needed. He said, start building your own apps with open-source code from projects built for Microsoft Holo Lens and the full spectrum of mixed reality across UWP
