Seminar on World Water Day
To mark World Water Day, GNA University, Phagwara celebrated it through an awareness campaign among the youth. About 500 students participated in different competitions like Documentary Making, Collage making, Debate and Technical Seminar.
Dr M.P. Singh, COE – Earthizenz, Chandigarh was invited as chief guest for this event and he advised students to conserve life by conserving water. He also advised everyone to do their bit to save water for the future generations.
The Vice Chancellor, Dr Prem kumar inaugurated this event and also talked on the new standards, which has mandated specific changes and discussed implementation tips for improving both availability and quality of water. He discussed how enhancement of quality of drinking water and improvement of product and company brand for portable drinking water suppliers put economic pressures on society, in addition to threats of health of Punjabees. The method was a varied involvement at ideation, experimentation and demonstration.
Dr P Thareja, Dean- Faculty of Engineering and Technology, discussed the threat of global water scenario, which is highly critical for this part of our country. He deliberated on water less scenario sketching the various constraints, and possible research areas where the society need to invest. Presiding over the function, he also encouraged students on the need to scientifically control operations. Citing Punjab as a state which is facing the problem of water scarcity, he focused on the need for measurement and a dedicated approach to water management.
Medals to the winners of the competitions were given by the dignitaries. In documentary making the medals were awarded to Nitish Saini of BBA. The medals for collage making were awarded to Mehak, Shubham and Parth of B Tech 6th Sem. The vote of thanks was given by Mr Gurpreet Singh- Event Coordinator.
Mr. Sunil Sarad, Dr. Anuranjan Sharda, Mr. Rahul Joshi, Mr. Ranjit Singh Dhami, Mr Gurpreet Singh, Mr. Ramesh Panda and other faculty members were also present during this event.
