3rd GU Sports Meet 2018

The Faculty of Physical Education and Sports at GNA University organized a 3rd GU Sports Meet (M/W) 2018 from February 28-1st March, 2018. The commencement of the Sports Meet was done by gracious presence of the chief guest Dr VK Rattan, the Vice Chancellor of the University with a sole objective for holistic development of University students and avoid the boring condition of all staff of GNA University.
In total 500 students from various faculties of University participated in the sports meet. After the rigorous 2 day sports meet, the final result at glace:
Track Events: 100 mts (Men) Ist Position: Hemant from FET, IInd Position:Lakhwinder Singh from FDI and 3rd Position:Kartik from FDI.
100 mts (Faculty Men) Ist Position: Mr Gurpreet Singh from FET, IInd Position:Mr Sukhdeep Singh from FPES and 3rd Position:Kamaljeet Kainth from FDI.



100 mts(Women)- Ist Position: Kiranpreet Kaur from FPES, IInd Position:Preety from FPES and 3rd Position:Paramjeet from GBS.
200 mts (Men) Ist Position: Hemant from FET, IInd Position:Sarabjit from FPES and 3rd Position:Hardeep from FDI.
200 mts(Women)- Ist Position: Kiranpreet Kaur from FPES, IInd Position:Preety from FPES and 3rd Position:Jaspreet from GBS.





The 4 day GU U20 Cricket Tournament culminated with the Closing ceremony held in the august presence of the chief guest S. Gurdeep Singh, the Pro Chancellor GNA University who appreciated the efforts of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports for organizing such sports tournaments for the upliftment of the youth in India.



Dr. Mohammad Salim Javed, Associate Prof-cum-Deputy Dean of Physical Education and Sports acknowledged the participation of all the sports persons and the accompanying coaches and team captains. He assured that GNA University will be leading more of such leads in bringing the hidden sports talent among the youth in the forefront.



The 4 day Cricket tournament was witnessed by all the staff and faculty of GNA University with great enthusiasm. The first trophy and cash award of Rs 11000/- was bagged by the GNA Cricket Club, the second runners up trophy and cash prize of Rs 5100/- by the Badala Cricket Academy. Mr. Subham Bansal was declared the Best Batsman of theTournament from the GNA Cricket Club and Mr. Ravi Kumar from Badala Cricket Club as the Best Bowler of the Tournament
