Mr. Gurloveleen Singh Sidhu, Deputy Commissioner, Kapurthala graced the convocation cum Alumni Meet 2017 of GNA as Chief Guest on Saturday, February 18,2017 amidst pomp and grandeur in galore.

Gursaran Singh, Chancellor, GNA University presided over the convocation ceremony. The Pro Chancellor – Mr. Gurdeep Singh Sihra, the Vice Chancellor – Dr Prem Kumar, Director, Dr S.K. Singla and Registrar – Mr. Sunil Sarad graced the occasion with the guest of honour.

On the occasion, Mr. Gurloveleen Singh Sidhu, the Chief Guest honoured 15 toppers of various academic programs. Nearly 250 GNA students were awarded with MBA, M.Sc IT, BBA, B.Com, HMCT and BAMT degrees.

Mr Gurloveleen Singh Sidhu congratulated the Award Winners and the students who were conferred with the degrees. He wished them success in their career. He also recommended the youth to stay away from drugs, see dreams and work hard to fulfill them as there is no substitute to hard work. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Gurloveleen Singh Sidhu emphasized education in human values which can lead to better relationship among the family members and the society at large. He lauded the role of GNA Group both in industry and education and hoped that this would provide opportunities to local youth in having access to high quality education which will enable them to get employment across the globe.

Gursaran Singh, Chancellor, GNA stressed on the degree recipients that a new phase of education and accumulation of knowledge for these students begins from tomorrow.

Mr. Gurdeep Singh Sihra,Pro Chancellor, GNA emphasized that the degree recipients should constantly ponder over the possibilities for the application of technology to make a positive impact on the quality of life of people.

Dr Prem Kumar, Vice Chancellor, GNA reminded the degree recipients the worth of education in preparing the foundation of a strong mind, hence, a strong nation, and that the responsibility to fulfill the vision of the nation lies on their young shoulders.

Dr. Singla, Director GNA stated that in a situation when the country is struggling hard to solve the problem of unemployment, the students graduating today are among the few privileged to pay tribute to their ‘Gurus’.
