Seminar cum Workshop on Android Application Development

On 2nd April 2019, 65 students from BCA-4, B.Sc. IT-4 and MCA-4 of FCS attended Seminar Cum Workshop in Android Application Development. And it was conducted by Ms. Sakshi from Solitaire Incorporation, Chandigarh in the GNA University. The event was started at 11 AM by giving a floral welcome to the guest. Ms. Sakshi commenced with a brief introduction to the changing scenarios of the IT industry in and around the Country and then proceeded to development session. She gave them hands on session on how to develop apps using Android. She also taught the students how to identify problem statement and provide solution for given problem using Apps. By the end of the session, basic android app were developed with the help and support of the Solitaire Infosys team members. After completing the workshop, students understood the history behind android development, setting up development environment, android architecture, android run time, UI Components, Hello World Example.

Android is an operating system for mobile devices and tablets. It is developed by Open Handset Alliance led by Google. Android has exploded onto the scene with the number of Android devices set to rise exponentially and things will get better.

Students showed interest in android mobile application development and were enthusiastic in developing the app.
