Prof. Sharma currently serving as Vice Chancellor, GNA University, Phagwara, Punjab is an accomplished academician and a visionary administrator having a total experience of around 26 years. During his long stay in academics, he has immensely contributed to all verticals of academics from strategic planning, policy formulation, teaching, research, guiding PhD scholars, outcome-based education, continuous assessment, mentoring of teachers and students, accreditations and rankings, and profitability of different management programs etc. He is acting as Chairperson of NAAC peer team and an auditor for NBA accreditation & different rankings including NIRF and many quality surveys. He has deep understanding of New Education Policy 2020 including aligning curriculum with new National Credit Framework, designing skill modules matching the NHEQF and NSQF, facilitate academic transfer through Academic Bank of Credits, interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary education, technological upgradation of teaching-learning process and other supporting departments, fostering industry collaborations, and internationalization of higher education. ... He is a perfect blend of corporate and academics. He obtained his Bachelor of Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Nagpur, and Master of Management Sciences from Birla’s TITS, Bhiwani in the year of 1997 and 1999 respectively. Having served in corporate sector almost for five years, he finally came into academics in 2004 and thereafter served in various prestigious institutions and Universities in different capacities. He obtained his PhD from M.D. University, Rohtak in 2009. His most of the research work is related to power sector but not limited to. He has guided a large number of PhD scholars and is the member of consolidated panel of PhD examiners of many reputed Universities in India. He is an invited expert in the Board of Studies of many reputed business schools. He has conducted over 50 FDPs/workshops for faculty members/ research scholars on research methods and data analysis tools. He has trained many academicians in statistical software’s such as SPSS, ADENCO, JAMOVI, and R etc. He has published in many National and International journals of repute including Emerald, ABDC and Scopus etc. He has chaired large number of technical sessions in seminars/ conferences in India. Being a subject expert, he has developed new courses in the operations management, supply chain management and production technology. Also, he has developed MOOCs for Quantitative Methods under the ePG Pathshala, an initiative of MHRD, Govt of India and student learning material of many subjects for the MBA students of various state government universities. His e-book on “Production Planning and Control” had been ratified by Indian Institute of Material Management, New Delhi (An Institution of National Eminence). He is the recipient of the most prestigious “Indian Achievers' Award 2022 for excellence in education” and Rashtriya Shiksha Ratan Samman 2022”.
