BACHELOR IN PHYSIOTHERAPY

Physiotherapy is one of the fastest-growing fields in India and abroad. Physiotherapy or physical therapy is a healthcare profession that helps people to revive, maintain and optimize their strength, function, motion, total well-being. GNA University offers a BPT course, with a duration of four and half years including an internship of 6 months. It is an allied health profession that helps students to learn a comprehensive understanding of the way, how human body functions and have specific hands-on clinical skills to evaluate, diagnose, and cure symptoms of injury, disability. The curriculum is specially designed to focus on the use of physical therapy, massages, physical movements, and exercise, breathing patterns to rehabilitate patients recovering from injuries. Program Outcomes:

The B.P.T. program will provide comprehensive, individually focused teaching and training that will prepare the students to provide high quality physiotherapy care to the patients. Students would also be able to recognize the role of physiotherapy in the context of the health needs of the community and National priorities in the health sector.
The B.P.T. program will provide students with the opportunity to develop and broaden their professional and ethical behavior appropriate to standard expected for a Physiotherapy Graduate.
The B.P.T. program will provide the students with opportunity to acquire knowledge on basic medical sciences, human movement sciences, various medical and surgical conditions and their appropriate treatments. The students will also be able to identify psychological, social, economic, cultural aspects of diseases and appreciate its impact on community.
The B.P.T. program will offer deep analytical skills to perform a safe, systematic and appropriate physiotherapy assessment for various conditions. It will also provide deep understanding to identify, define and deal with problems of professional practice through logical, analytical and critical thinking. Students will acquire ability to analyse and interpret physical assessment, diagnosis and set appropriate short- and long-term goals.
The B.P.T. program will train and engage students for work place skills, to communicate effectively across wide range of professional and personal contexts. It will endow skills and ability to work independently or collaboratively in clinical, academic and research settings.

Program Specific Outcomes:

The B.P.T. program demonstrates sufficient understanding of knowledge in physiotherapy and provides strong base to integrate theoretical knowledge with clinical assessment. It offers ability to collect history, perform scientific clinical assessment, derive judicious inferences and diagnosis and frame appropriate electrotherapeutic and exercise therapy management for the patients. This program engages students in activities that contribute to the betterment of society and behave ethically and responsibly in social environment.
This program develops clinical decision-making ability and provides judicious patient care and develops effective communication with patients, family, colleagues and students.
The B.P.T. program promotes health education and improves quality of life through the practice of the profession. It also encourages research and publications towards upliftment of the field of Physiotherapy.
The program Ensure students to work effectively in various inter professional collaborative settings like Hospitals, Rehabilitation Centers, Special Schools, Educational Institutions, Health and Fitness Centers, Geriatric Centers, Ergonomic Consultation in Corporate Sectors, Private Consultation, Home Care Services, Industrial Sectors, Sports Management and Fitness Consultation.
