Dr. Vikrant Sharma earned his Ph. D. in Electronics and Communication on the topic performance optimization of multichannel, multigigabit per second DWDM ring from I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University, Punjab, India.

He is Professor and Associate Dean in School of Engineering and Technology, GNA University, Phagwara. During his academic career of more than 20 years till now, Dr. Vikrant Sharma has taught various subjects at UG/PG level and has authored two books, edited two conference proceedings. He has published 30 papers in international journals, 10 papers in national journals and 20 papers in proceedings of international/national conferences. Dr. Vikrant has guided 10 M.Tech. dissertations and is presently guiding 7 Ph. D. students. Although, with being a good teacher, Dr. Vikrant has handled number of administrative assignments successfully and made exemplary contribution through his dedicated, committed and innovative approach with high integrity. Major administrative assignments handled are observer of common entrance tests for engineering in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, Principal, Vice Principal, Head of Department, M. Tech coordinator, Ph. D. coordinator, member of board of studies for upgradation of syllabus at I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University and NPTEL coordinator. He is on the editorial board of different international and national journals. He has organized 3 national/international conferences and 7 short term courses/workshops.

He chaired “Smart Innovation Ergonomics and Applied Human Factors-2019” held in Madrid, Spain. He also Chaired the 10th Annual IEEE Information technology, Electronics and Mobile Communication Conference (IEMCON) 2019 at university of British Columbia at Vancouver, Canada and also chaired Engineering research and Application 2019 conference held at Bahra university.

He is the recipient of several awards such as PIT Crew Award by NASA (Alabama, USA), ISTE section best-emerging chapter award, twice ISTE best teacher award, best Ph.D. dissertation award. He is also a lifetime member of ISTE and IETE and member of CSI. His has a keen research interest in Optical fiber and wireless communication.

Dr. Vikrant Sharma received Best Teacher and Best Ph.D dissertation award during Annual ISTE faculty convention 2018.
