Industrial Visit to Rail Coach Factory at Kapurthala
16-12-2017 On 16th December, 2017, students of Faculty of Natural Sciences visited Rail Coach Factory at Kapurthala (Punjab), India. It was established in 1986 and is a rail coach manufacturing unit of Indian Railways. It manufactured its first coach in March 1988. Going on the track of progress RCF become the largest and most modern coach manufacturing unit of Indian Railways. Till date this unit had produced about 28,000 coaches which are being used in all over the India. In this unit, every year more than 1600 coaches assembled which includes both AC and Non-AC coaches. Bodies of coaches are manufactured using stainless steel and corten steel.
